In College Point, we focus much of our efforts on two magnificent waterfront parks – MacNeil Park, and Powell’s Cove Park. They are located on the East River less than a mile apart on the town’s northeast coast. We also work to restore blighted coastal areas on Flushing Bay, including "Big Rock Beach," and the public piers adjacent to the Skyline Terrace condominiums, also on Flushing Bay.
In Long Island, we are working to launch a community composting pilot project in Upper Brookville, a village within Oyster Bay.
Through environmental education, shoreline cleanups, oyster regrowth efforts, scientific research, and environmental advocacy, Coastal Preservation Network is creating more vibrant waterfronts and parks, fighting for the improvements we deserve, ensuring public access to the coastal environment, and strengthening community service and pride.
