Help make a difference in your community on

It’s My Park Day – Sat., Oct.15, 2011!!!

9am to 1 pm at MacNeil Park, College Point

9 am-11 am: Beach cleanup – northeast corner of park

Last spring we filled a 30 cubic yard dumpster and thoroughly cleaned the beach. But, the trash is back.  We need your help to restore the shoreline.

11 am–Noon: Tree ID and education walk – meet at beach

We will guide a tour of the park’s greatly diverse tree including chestnut, oak, pine, birch, crabapple, & gingko. This is step 1 in our plan to tag more trees in the park.

Noon-1 pm: Daffodil bulb planting – south side of playground

We’ll plant 200+ bulbs – they’ll be blooming in the spring -- around the south fence of the playground (not where the construction is underway)
