Coastal Preservation Network is a not-for-profit organization in College Point, NY, that is dedicated to restoring the East River shoreline environment in Northeast Queens, increasing public access to local waters, and empowering community members to be greener in their daily lives. Throughout 2012 we are celebrating our 10th anniversary.

Through environmental workshops, free kayaking events, shoreline cleanups and plantings, and community advocacy, we are together creating more vibrant waterfronts, reconnecting the public to the waters that surround them, and strengthening community pride and service.

Our main areas of focus are two New York City parks: MacNeil Park, known by long-time residents as Chisholm's, and Powells Cove Park. Both of these riverfront jewels are cared for by the city Department of Parks and Recreation, and benefit from the generous assistance of Coastal Preservation Network volunteers.
