COASTAL PRESERVATION NETWORK is dedicated to restoring and protecting the coastal environment in Northeast Queens, improving local waterfront parks through hands-on action and advocacy, increasing public access to local waters, providing environmental education, and empowering residents to be greener in their daily lives.
We focus on MacNeil and Powells Cove parks in College Point, two magnificent East River parks that are havens of active recreation and peaceful enjoyment. We also are restoring a long-neglected stretch of waterfront on Flushing Bay that we've christened "Big Rock Beach."

Through environmental workshops, shoreline cleanups, seagrass and oyster plantings, research, parks advocacy, educational presentations and partnerships, Coastal is creating more vibrant waterfronts and parks, reconnecting the public to the coastal ecosystem, building environmental knowledge, protecting our natural resources, and strengthening community service and pride. During the Covid-19 crisis, we became actively engaged in providing food relief to College Point residents, in partnership with A Better College Point, Margaret Loughlin Homes, and the support of local residents, businesses, and elected officials. Consider supporting us through our GoFundMe page. CPN is an all-volunteer 501c3 organization established in 2002.
